In classical Greek, "askios" means "shadowless".

Askios  (pronounced a-SKEE-os) is a self-help program I started in March 2003 for adult survivors of childhood abuse and trauma. It's based on an American program ASCA (Adult Survivors of Child Abuse) developed by The Morris Center, California.

Within Askios, we have a safe, supportive and confidential environment that frees us from our sense of isolation. Here, we develop skills, share our pains and our strengths, and learn how to move forward from the childhood experiences that have held us back so long.

At the moment there is one Askios group for women survivors, that meets weekly.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ:  Askios is not an NGO or other organisation. It is an informal group for survivors of child abuse. Askios and the ASCA program are not substitutes for professional psychotherapy. Although I have taken great care with the production of the Askios site, it is possible that reading about the issues there can be disturbing to some individuals. Neither I nor ASCA cannot be held responsible for any emotional distress or subsequent behaviour caused by visiting the site.

And by the way, there is no yellow trapezium.
